Vector Training
The Boise School District is responsible for ensuring that all employees participate in new hire and annual compliance training as required by the Board of Trustees and the State and Federal Government. For all information regarding the mandatory Vector training, please refer to the appropriate section below.

All employees (new hires and returning) will be required to take the following courses:
Courses 1-5 are DUE August 11, 2026 and must be completed prior to having contact with students.

9. Sexual Harassment Staff to Staff - 17 minutes
10. Pillars -OR- Pillars for Non-instructional Staff - 23 minutes or 9 minutes (depending on your job assignment)
11. Drug Free Workplace - 24 minutes
12. Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program - 11 minutes (Select schools only)

The District was awarded a grant to participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) for the 2024-25 school year at select schools. FFVP is a USDA Federal Program that provides a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to students during the school day. Participants in this program (all non-food and nutrition services employees working at the following sites) will be required to complete this course: Garfield, Grace Jordan, Hawthorne, Hillcrest, Horizon, Jefferson, Koelsch, Morley Nelson, Owyhee, Valley View, Whitney, Whittier, and Wm. Howard Taft. The deadline to complete this mandatory course is August 11, 2026.
- Facilities & Operations and Food Nutrition Services may have additional courses that need to be completed. If applicable, you will see those courses assigned to you under "My Assignments" in Vector.

Prior to having contact with students ALL Vector courses must be completed each year! This means substitutes will not be able to sign up for any substitute jobs until ALL courses are completed.
All District Substitutes will be required to take the following courses prior to contact with students:

11. Special Education Department Substitute Role & Expectations - 3 minutes
New Certified substitutes will be required to complete the following Vector courses in order to be eligible to accept certified jobs (not required if you previously completed Certified substitute training through the Boise School District):
- Certified Substitute Training 1: Introduction and Expectations - 7 minutes
- Certified Substitute Training 2: Lesson Plans - 17 minutes
- Certified Substitute Training 3: Classroom Management - 15 minutes
- Certified Substitute Training 4: Classroom Scenarios - 25 minutes
- Certified Substitute Training 5: Philosophies and Wrap-up - 8 minutes

Employees hired as a Special Education Paraprofessional or Behavior Support Specialist within the Boise School District must meet the highly qualified requirements outlined by the Special Education Department of the Boise School District. These requirements should be completed within the first six months of employment. These employees will be provided with a course list of specialized training and other information regarding the requirements for paraprofessionals hired by the Boise School District. These training courses in addition to the other mandatory courses assigned by Human Resources per District Policy.
Mandatory Vector Training Courses Deadlines
Board Policy #5530 states that it is the responsibility of employees to complete all required training. Failure to complete the mandatory Vector training courses by the deadline may result in disciplinary action.
