Biometric Screening & Wellness Medical Plan

Eligible employees and retirees under age 65 enrolled in the District's medical plan can qualify for the Regence Wellness Medical Plan by completing a biometric screening.

Participation is voluntary, confidential, and can help you save money through lower premiums, copays, and deductibles.

  • The biometric screening requirement applies to:

    • Active Boise School District employees enrolled in the District's medical plan
    • Retirees under age 65 enrolled in the District's medical plan

Dependents are not eligible to participate in the biometric screening program and are not required to complete a screening for Wellness Medical Plan eligibility.

  • Important Requirement

To be eligible to elect the Regence Wellness Medical Plan for the 2027–2028 benefit plan year, the primary medical plan member must complete one of the following qualification options by March 31, 2027.

Employees who complete their biometric screening with a personal healthcare provider must also ensure the completed Biometric Screening Verification Form is submitted directly to Saint Alphonsus by March 31, 2027.

New Employees: Employees hired after January 1, 2027, are automatically eligible for the Wellness Medical Plan for the upcoming plan year and are not required to complete a biometric screening during their first year of eligibility.

Option 1: Complete a Biometric Screening with Your Provider

    • Schedule a biometric screening with your healthcare provider.
    • Bring the Biometric Screening Verification Form to your appointment.
    • Have your healthcare provider complete the required information during your visit.
    • Submit the completed form directly to Saint Alphonsus by March 31, 2027.

Option 2: Attend a Boise School District Biometric Screening Event

    • Participate in a District-sponsored biometric screening event.
    • Screening events will be offered between September 2026 and February 2027 at various school locations, the Saint Alphonsus Wellness Office, and the District Service Center.
    • No additional paperwork is required. Your results will be submitted on your behalf.

Option 3: Request a Medical Exemption

    • If a biometric screening is medically inadvisable, submit a Biometric Screening Exemption Form by March 31, 2027.
    • A healthcare provider must complete a portion of the exemption form.
    • Screening Period: April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
    • Forms Accepted Beginning: September 1, 2026
    • Submission Deadline: March 31, 2027
    • District Screening Events: September 2026 – February 2027

Please Note: Screenings completed before September 1, 2026 must be held and submitted once forms are accepted. Early submissions will not be processed.

  • Biometric screening appointments will be available at multiple Boise School District locations and the Saint Alphonsus Wellness Office throughout the screening period. The schedule below is provided to help employees and retirees plan ahead and identify a convenient date and location.

Registration is not yet open. Online appointment scheduling is expected to open in mid-August. Once registration becomes available, detailed instructions and appointment scheduling information will be emailed directly to eligible employees and retirees.

Please check back for updates and be sure to watch your email for registration announcements.
